Hello there,

You have it. Right click on My computer, goto manage, and then device manager.

Anything that isn't right will have a yellow exclaimation or a red X next to it.

As others have said Device Manager is the one place to make sure it has been installed correctly if it is not showing up the hardware is either faulty or the drivers haven't been installed for it to work correctly.

When installing any hardware windows will detect the hardware and ask for drivers if windows can't find them.

If Windows does not see the hardware it's not plugged in correctly or it is faulty.

Right click on My Computer and clicking on Properties then click on the Hardware tab then pressing the Device Manager tab and look for any hardware with the yellow ! beside it meaning no drivers were found to install it and you will need to install them manually.
