Say you've been alive since the 1500's, and you are still very youthful. How do you think this would cause you to act? What might you have learned? Would you have tried to make scientific discoveries or help the world in great ways?
Just curious as to other people's opinions.

I think I would be very hard to impress or frighten, because even at 50 years old, it's getting to be that way.
I'd probably be very patient and kind and not too worried about things, because I'd have seen so much coming and going of people and events.
I'd definitely believe in Karmic events if I had memory of all the 500 years of my life.
I'd share my wisdom with those I love, but not many more people, since we all have a tendency to poo-poo what we can't understand or haven't experienced for ourselves.
I'd definitely be shocked at the state of our Earth at this time, though, and I'd try to get some fire under Al Gore's campaign against global warming.
I'd be super happy to be living in an era of indoor plumbing!

First, there's a lot of people out there that would not like to live that long. For them, 70-85yrs is just more than enough. However, if you are talking about an academic, then 500yrs is not enough time to complete their researches: Doctors, Scientist and the like. And for the rest of the world, not much would change in their every day life for the exception of some modern technology thrown in. But for me, I'll try to eliminate poverty by means of education. Education is knowledge and knowledge is the power to be able to learn how to make a decent living.

Living for 500 years wouldn't make me more intelligent mathematically, so I don't think I could make any significant breakthroughs in the science community, but I would try to help people.

If I had been alive for 500 years, I would have lived through the entire life of my country (The US). I would have seen the rise and fall of all of our great (and not so great) leaders. I would have experienced every one of our wars. I would use this knowledge to try and guide the leaders of today. Try to show them the mistakes of yesterday and use that to avoid the mistakes of tomorrow.

I would also try to reach people on an individual level. Try to get everyone to understand the meaning of equality. Show them the horrors that we put other people through at the conception of our country, and try to make everyone see that we're all people, and that we should love each other. It didn't take me 500 years to figure out that every single person in the world has one secret that could break your heart. And knowing that makes us all seem a little bit more human.

Since I have been around a long time, don't know when I got here. I still act and do pretty much the same as always. Watch humanity come and go and wait until some age they evolve in such an ascendant way so as to help them upward to superior states where they too can enjoy better the love of their creator.

I would be very careful about who I told the truth about my longevity as I wouldn't want to become a lab rat. I would also be cautious about the world around me so that I wouldn't die from an accident. I would attempt to aide humanity, but would funnel my ideas and inventions through other people so as not to draw attention to myself. I would also read alot more (even though I already read alot) as you never know when something you've read will aide you later in life.

I would be a bad-a__ like Kate Beckinsale in those vampire movies...except without the whole vampire thing.

I would be agile from all the skills I learned, hot from years of practice and all wise from everything I had seen, heard and experienced over those 500 years.
