I know that in the play they never actually write out the marriage, but they write out them arriving in the Friar's garden... I think. I'm writing an essay for my english class and you need specific references to the text so that would really help.

They are married between Act 2 Scene 6 and Act 3 Scene 1. When Juliet arrives at the Friar's cell, he takes them and marries them immediatly. They consumate the marriage right before Act 3 scene 4.

Reread Act 2 Scene 6 (and the scenes that precede it) closely and you'll see how they plot to meet at the Friar's cell for their marriage. The Nurse is specifically employed as the bearer of the massage regarding the marriage.

In Summary, it happens offstage.

In the play they were never married. They met in the Friars garden because it was one of the only places where they could safely meet. Back then a man had to ask a parent for a womans hand in marriage, Juliets parents would of never gave permission.

I don't know what's worse...someone asking such a fundamental question about a play they obviously didn't take the time to read carefully, or someone coming in here and answering the question incorrectly ("they were never married"...)

Sheesh.

Sounds to me as if you are too freaking lazy to do your home work. Read the play. If you don't get it the first time, read it again. Why are you writing a report on something that you don't know anything about? Why not write on the effects of nuclear explosions on the moon.
