Most diarrhoea clears on its own...usually in 1-2 days. But severe food poisoning can cause fever and vomitting then its best to see the doctor....he may need antibiotics. But if its just a mild to moderate case...give your child lots of fluids (lost of fluid and salts in diarrhoea can make the child very weak) and 'soft' food like toast and porriage until the condition gets better. Fruit juices are good as it also replaces the salts. Otherwise you can get some rehydration salts from the pharmacy. If the diarrhoea persist for more than 2 days, go to the doctors....it may not be a simple case of food poisoning

Sure, it will clear after a couple of days. But you have to realize that diarrhea drains your body of fluids too fast. I know kids hate water, but you must insist of getting him to get plenty of fluids.
Pedolyte (the stuff in the baby food isle) is good because not only does it replace the fluids, but it also contains electrolytes which helps with the imbalance from the fluid loss. Of course you could just cut an Imodium AD in half and give him that, those things work in like 2 hours, I swear by them. You said no pills, but you can turn that "facet" off within a couple of hours, or you can wait 1-3 days and keep forcing him to drink, not to mention the red booty. Immodium AD is expensive, like 5.00 for a box.

It should clear in a day or two. Make sure he gets plenty of clear liquids. H20 and gatorade are best. If the symptoms persist for longer than a few days, he needs to see a doctor to see if there is a bigger problem.
