I believe the game is on at 8:oo am on Monday, February 5th (Japanese time) and I really want to go watch it. However, I have no idea of any bars or restaurants that are open that early, let alone will be showing the Super Bowl. Where could I possibly go to make this happen?

I do not know the answer, but would check with the American Consulat or a military base to see if they would know.

NTV or Nippon TV is airing the NFL divisional playoffs and a weekly recap show called NFL Club. Their web page only shows the schedule for January. Seeing that they have the broadcast rights for the regualr season and playoffs, my best bet is that they also have the rights to air the superbowl. In Tokyo, NTV is channel 4. In Tokyo, Roppongi there are a few sports bars that will air the superbowl. Since I am Tokyo Gaijin, I don't know about Osaka, but check in Osaks's area(s) that has a large expat or gaijin population. Or you could always come up to Tokyo just fo rthe game. Already a few of the gaijins from my gym are planning a small informal superbowl party.

Maybe the bar staff at the Pig & Whistle or one of the other gaijin joints would be in the know on where the party would be. Or else ask someone who is in a expat group like the Hash Harriers, Democrats/Republicans overseas, etc.
