And those Patriot missiles are not for shooting down the paper airplanes that the Sunnis are building to fight the civil war.

I'm probably too old, but if I were young, I wouldn't want to go. At this point, I would only join up if a real country actually attacked us or our interests. Not a bunch of terrorists. I might burn the draft card.

Let's be fair people, the asker posed a hypothetical, you can't just say it won't happen and call that an answer.

I'm over 45, so I can't be called. If I could be drafted, I'd go the conscientious objector route, even if it meant years of prison..not because I'm a coward, and I do love my country, but I couldn't fight in a rich guy's war...to prove how macho he is..and to try to Christianize the world.

I firmly believe Bush will do whatever he wants, regardless of the cost financially...I don't think he could give a s*it what congress says or what the American people want...it's obvious he hasn't been operating strategically since day one of his administration. He is on a mission from God--the nut really believes God is talking to him, and he feels justified in doing whatever he wants, since he really believes God is on his side...this is exactly what the religious right and the neo-con's wanted..

Thank god I'm too old and my son is too young and have pity and solace for those who have to fight for all the wrong reasons.

I'm sure if America were truly attacked, you would have an army so big the attackers would shudder. People don't mind the military if its defending thier homes.

Yes I'm behind on my gun training but if it came to an invasion from Mexico or Canada, my *** would be down to wherever the volunteers are to defend my native country from foreign invaders. (Which people from DC may qualify if they lose any more touch with this country)

I'm 34 so I doubt I'd be drafted anytime soon.

If I was, I would not go to war to attack Iran, unless Iran had done something directly to attack the U.S. first.

I will defend my country proudly but I would not die for another one of Bush's misguided pre-emptive wars, period.

If I was drafted I would go willingly, but I would make sure that people knew I was against the war. I wouldn't want to look like a coward (not saying that anyone who refuses would be) because I am majoring in political science and hope to run for office sometime later in life.

Let's just hope that it doesn't come to that.
