there's only an 85% chance that you won't get pregnant. That also means that there is still that 15% chance you could get pregnant.

You can get pregnant if you use the condoms carelessly. Which means: not using them for every act of intercourse, only using them right before ejaculation, not using water-based lube, forgetting to leave room at the tip for the semen to collect (which leads to breakage), not withdrawing the p*nis very quickly after ejaculation (where semen can leak out the top), etc.
If you do everything carefully, and the condom doesn't break, leak, or slip off, you can rest assured that all was well and you will not get pregnant. Microscopic holes in condoms are a big, fat myth -- seriously -- each condom is electronically tested for holes before they are packaged, and sometimes they are additionally tested, in batches, by using air and water leakage/burst tests. Also, they are double-dipped in latex, which means there would have to be a teeny hole in each layer, that is perfectly lined up with the other, in order for some sperm to pass through. Think about it: what are the odds of THAT??? :)
Microscopic holes CAN occur, don't get me wrong, but usually as a result of a condom that has been stored improperly in extreme heat (by the user) or used past the expiration date. The FDA and scientific research clearly state that the 2% failure rate of perfect usage is by breakage and slippage by manufacturing defects...NOT microscopic holes. They say that "virtually no pregnancies" result from microscopic holes. So people say that you have a 2% chance of getting pregnant no matter what. What is really more accurate to say is that you have a 2% chance of your condom breaking or slipping off -- even if used perfectly -- not because of scary little holes. (And if your condom does fail, you will need to get the emergency contraception pill if you wish to avoid pregnancy.)
Keep using condoms consistently and correctly, and you should be fine. :) Good luck and good for you for using protection.

from lifestyles condom box:
"although no contraceptive can guaratee 100% effectiveness, latex condoms, when properly used, are highly effective means of preventing pregnancy without serious side effects sometimes associated with someother methonds. condoms are primarily intended for use in vaginal intercourse; other uses can increase potential breakage."
so although they are effective yes you can get pregnant but highly unlikely unless lets say the condom breaks or there is a hole in it. other than that you're safe.just don't use the condoms for any other type of sex or don't go and start having anal sex and use the same condom for vaginal sex
also i have had condoms break on me but only two. and i had a back up plan i also bought spermicide which kills 99.9% of the sperm and used it after each time i had sex.
but the only 100% way on not getting pregnant is not having sex at all.

It's 98-99% effective if used correctly and does not break. Of course if the condom breaks there's a little more of a chance because the sperm gets inside your body and those sperm are designed swimmers. For the most part they are pretty effective.

if it breaks there's a good chance if it doesn't break there still a chance but its small, the only way to be 100% sure is not to have sex with him so yes there is a chance.
