If the US were to convert to the metric system, it would be in synch with the rest of the world, and life would be much simpler as far as arithmetic and mathematics are concerned. Why would 'inch Allah' become 'cm. Allah?' Non-mathematical names won't change. You will still talk about fancy footwork on a basketball court.

No, it would be "2.54 Centimetre Allah"
The US won't convert to the Metric system, it would be far too expensive.

We were told in the fourth grade that we had to learn the metric system because that's all there was going to be in 5 years! (That was almost 40 years ago!)

No, the old sayings would remain the same. However, measurements would be much easier with the metric system...We really need to change it.
