Another way you could go is to use a font that like outlines the letters some fonts have like have a outside line drawing out the letter and a inside line and in the middle of the two lines it is white that is about as close as you could get with out coloring the whole page

No white inks available but you can print in reverse which blacks out everything except the characters. Uses a lot of ink. I am impressed by the way my printer takes just 3 colors and prints virtually all the colors in the rainbow by mixing them as it prints. You can print yellow on colored paper and if the background is dark enough will appear lighter.

You cannot print white (there is no white ink). All you can do is to print colored around the area you want white and to leave that blank. You will have to use white paper, not colored paper.

And it will "drain" your printer ink cartridge...

At home you can't do that at all.
The standard ink jet or colour laser cannot print white as a colour.
