back in the old days there was a way to do this (the phone company used it). I don't think it is used today as phones are no longer mechanical.

I remember that about 15 years ago a friend showed me how to dial your own number with a star code prefix, hang up, pick up, and hang up again. After a few seconds, the phone would ring but no one would be on the other line.
Searching around, I found a list of the star (*) codes on the Bell network. However, I do not recognize as any being the one my friend had used years ago but a few look promising (like *94).

I doubt there are any ways to make your cell/VoIP phone do a similar trick, but you never know.

dial your home phone number and press off or end or whatever is on your phone, and it will ring.

call your own phone number from the home phone you will get a message saying you have called a party on your own line please hang up give the call party time to answer and then pick up. i dont know ne thing else so.

you dial your on phone number from the phone or from its base and it will ring unless your phone is dead.
