If you want to fit into the clothes, you should slim down.

If fitting into the clothes at A&F isn't high on your list of priorities, I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't you know the history of A & F. They first started designing men's wear but soon after that their business began to defunct. Then a new owner or a new partner or someone in the company, i can't remember who, but I say his picture, scary, he looks like he has one to many face lift and botox injection, moved the company to another direction, designing clothes for the young, preppie, attractive, skinnny, anorexic, jock, athletes college students. I read that the company only design clothes for those who have great bodies and love to show it off. That is why all of the sizes in smaller and more snug fitting than other brands. So yep they don't make clother for the average american, which is like more than half of the population. it is an exclusively brand, or so. Don't fret, if you really like A & F stuff, get the mens wear. The larger size should fit you better, you can always have it tailor for a better fit.

The problem is that there is no standardized measurement for jeans. So a size 9 at one place can be more like a size 11 at another place. I really think they should make it so that sizes are required to be the same from one store to another.

i don't think that their clothes are small at all. I fit xs at A&F and a L at abercormbie kids. maybe it wasn't made for your body. it's all fair, different brands fit different people, nothing you can do about it.
