In this contest I wanna do, what does this mean?

You have to use our stock as a reference for your painting/drawing/...

you have to mimic some form of traditional art, whether you use the artist's technique, medium/media, etc.
and as for the stock reference, i think that means that you have to select the piece that you are using as a reference from the ones that the place owns/has on exibit/prints it has for sale.
