I spent half of the day making a special dish that my mother in law makes for my husband and by accident I put a little bit of this seasoning that I usually use. My husband went to eat it and he went straight to the garbage and spit it out. He said how many times do I have to tell you I hate that seasoning. This was my second time making the dish and in my faimly we put alot of the special seasoning. Do I have a right to be mad at him???????

Thanks for all the answers. I wish if he had told me that he did not like that seasoning. He has the tendancy to tell me after I threw the seasoning inside the dish. You guys are right this is the last time I am making anything for him.

Sounds like your husband doesn't appreciate you, cause if he did he would of focused on your gesture more than your food. I would be angry too, and I would tell him he hurt your feelings. If he apologizes then forgive him, if he doesn't then don't bother spending a lot of time to please him if you know he isn't going to grateful. Then you won't set yourself up for disappointment.

Yes you have a right to be upset but at the same time if he told you he does not like that seasoning you need to listen to him and not put it in his food.... He does not like it and that is why he threw it away even though he could have handled it differently.

Try making it without the seasoning once and see if you like it. Or, make half with the seasoning and half without. In other words, compromise. It will save hurt feelings.

How he reacted was wrong, you did put a lot of work into it. So, he should have been a bit more graceful in communicating how he felt.

You can be mad at the reaction, since he didn't really apprecaite the effort you put into it. My view is if you're going to be mad, know what you're mad about.

Not only mad at him but mad at yourself for ever marrying the jerk!!
surly the day will come when you realize that constituted emotional abuse and if it continues it would be wise to get a divorce. No one should be treated like that!

Not really. Some men actually associates the way food is prepared for them with the degree of consideration that the one preparing the food has for them.

For instance, I like my eggs over medium. My wife knows this. But she always cooks them for me over hard. I do not eat them. Why should I? I don't like my eggs like that. Obviously, she does not think it that important to cook the way I like. And yes, I feel she is being inconsiderate when she cooks food the way she knows I don't like it. I don't do it to her.

It may seem overreacting, but a for a lot of people, eating is important. Almost ritualistic, like sex. People like their food a certain way, just like they like sex a certain way.

Your husband is tactless and YES you have the right to be mad. His delivery was HORRIBLE. Had he said it different I would have different advice for you.

You have a right to be hurt not angry. He could have been a little more diplomatic and appreciated the fact that you even tried to make him happy.
