What's the difference between taking a vitamin supplement in the morning or the evening and what kind of effect would that have on a growing, 20something woman?

It doesn't matter. Just make use its balanced 2:1 with Magnesium. AND try to take calcium phosphate or calcium citrate. After adolescence we can't digest calcium carbonate.

The best time to take a calcium supplelment is at night. Calcium makes you relax, so it makes perfect sense to take it just before bedtime. Calcium is good to take at any age, especially women over 35.

Most vitamin supplements are best taken with meals like lunch or dinner to help with absorbtion, and prevent irritation.

taking vitamins after eating breakfast to maximize the energy, nutrients you receive from them..

I'm not sure, but when I take CalMag (calcium/magnesium) it makes me really tired, not sure if it's the cal or the mag.
