I put them in this order:

1. Columbia Universtiy, NY

One of the best colleges in America. Unfortunately -- Columbia is in the Ivy League -- which is one of two conferences that don't give out athletic scholarships

2. Lehigh University, PA
2. Colgate University, NY
2. Bucknell University, PA

These schools are all excellent and are roughly comparable. Unfortunately, they are all in the Patriot League -- one of two conferences that don't give out athletic scholarships. There is some talk that this may change -- so check with these schools.

5. Wheaton, MA

Excellent liberal arts college. Do they even have track there?

Binghamton University, NY
University of Akron, OH

Decent regional schools -- don't know much about them.

Well, since i'm currently at Akron I feel I should tell you it's the best, after all, we have a kangaroo as a mascot.

In all actuality though it depends on a lot of things. If money is most important, look for a state school (I'm guessing you're in PA by the list), they tend to be much cheaper. Often scholarships speak for themselves as well. I'm here because I couldn't argue with free school.

If you're wondering about Akron in general, it's not too bad. I don't know the art school at all, but I've had a little interaction with the business school. All I can say is that they're nice. I'm actually here for law school and to me the campus is big. It is however easy enough to get around. Anywhere you park is tolerable, even if it's not your first choice, and you won't have to drive round for half an hour to find a spot. Akron is a pretty cheap city to live in too. Student center is pretty nice, cafeteria is good, the gym is fantastic, the football team sucks, the undergrad library feels like a dungeon from the 1970's. The law library is really nice though.

My personal recomendation is a small school for undergrad. I place where you may run into your professors on campus and people actually recognize you. Akron is a medium to large sized school. This is my Yahoo! IM name and well as AIM feel free to look me up if you want to know anything.

You have an impressive list here! You need to visit these schools and see if you are a good "fit" for them. They will each have their own "personality" and you will probably find that you like one or two more than the others.

I strongly recommend a visit with the track coach and members of the team as well. Ask lots of quesitons. Is there academic support when you're traveling for your sport? Are you given extra time to make up missed homework when you travel? How many years is it taking athletes to complete their degrees?

Write down your impressions after you visit and stay in touch with the people you meet at each school.

You will have the opportunity for a great education at any of these schools. And I am a strong believer that it's not as important which school you attend, as what you do while you're attending.

Good luck!

many of these universities do not have an undergrad business program. i know that Columbia doesn't for sure. i would look into all of these schools and confirm which ones have an UNDERGRADUATE business program. as an art major, some of these schools also seem too preppy for you....particularly Leigh. i have a friend at bucknell who is an art major though...she really enjoys it. good luck!

Columbia college is likely your superb decision so a ways as having concepts-blowing professors, yet there's a huge pupil body and it truly is widespread to lose song of the closeness you would sense in a smaller college. you are able to fairly grow to be on the fringe of your classmates if the faculty has a smaller enrollment. you would favor to envision out Kenyon college positioned in Gambier, OH. it truly is totally upscale, deepest college with nationwide and international reknowned professors in a lot of parts of self-discipline. Plus, they have a good song team, so your possibilities of an finished journey scholarship are truly severe with this faculty.
