At the end of Panic Room Why do the police return? It didn't seem like she gave any signal when the police were at the door?

There were like 100 officers. It doesn't seem logical that they'd send that many officers for a HUNCH.

I thought the officer saw something in Jodie Foster's eyes that gave him the feeling that something was wrong. Just a gut instinct.

Hmm,I'm not positive seems it had to do with the officer wanting her to lock the door or something else along those lines.
Or came back to tell her something because her phone wasn't working or the power etc.
I don't believe it was hunch on his part. It was accidental he came back.
I do remeber the look J. Foster gave to the police, we were led to believe he might pick up on her body language but The officer did not.
I'll see if I can find for sure for you.

She did. The police saw blood on her fingers, if I remember correctly.

I think that her body language showed them that she wasnt as comfortable as a woman in her own home should be. Thats my best guess!
