Recently I have thought about getting breast reduction surgery but I'm a little scared and unsure. If you've had it...what was the procedure like? Did you regret it or was it worth it?

Can you give me some additional information. What size are you? Are you uncomfortable the way you are? What size would you like to be? Personally I like them smaller so I would say go for it

I just had breast reduction surgery one week ago. I went from a DD to a full B. I am not going to lie and say it did not hurt because it did hurt a lot. I stayed overnight in the hospital for one night and went home the next morning. I spent the first few days more or less in bed on pain medication. Try to make sure you take the meds every 4 or 5 hours- dont wait for it to start hurting a lot. I hated the way the medicine made me feel (perkocets) so I stopped taking it on the 5th day and switched to extra strength tylenol. I was nervous about the surgery but it went very well. I currently am wearing a compression bra that resembles a tube top. I will be getting my sutures out tomorrow. Since it has only been a week, and I have only really seen my breasts once since the surgery (the say after when the doctor took off the compression bra to change the gauze) I am not entirely sure what they will be like. I am still in some pain- as expected. I cannot lift my arms past my shoulders until the sutures come out. Dont go through with the surgery unless you are positive. It is a BIG change but if it is what you want then it is for the better. This was something I had wanted since 8th grade! (Im 20 now) If you have any more questions feel free to contact me and I will answer anything you`d like about the surgery.

I've had breast reduction surgery and have no regrets. If I had the choice to do it over again, I would. My clothes fit much better now. It wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. I was out of work for 3 weeks. There really is no reason to be afraid as long as you're healthy and you have a skilled surgeon. Great Luck.

I was a 38J and went to a 38C back in Feb '06 and had five pounds taken off of me with breast reduction surgery.

It is the best thing I have ever done in my life. You would not regret it one bit.

http://www.breasthealthonline.com is a site that helped me very very much through my breast reduction experience. PLEASE take a look at it and check out the FAQ's and the breast reduction support board.

A quick go through for me: I went through surgery for maybe three hours, stayed at the hospital overnight, when I came to in the recovery section I immediately felt NOTHING. NO back pain, neck pain, or shoulder pain. IT was NOT the drugs, it was the fact that I had five pounds off of me. Now, be warned, your breasts will look disgusting for about a month or three because of the bruising and scarring. Frankly I was happy no matter what they looked like because I no longer had any pain or grooves in my shoulders or rashes under my breasts! I took off two weeks (take off more if you are in a very active physical job), NO heavy lifting, NO laundry, vacuuming, etc. You had major surgery times TWO so you need to recuperate before starting back to your life like normal.

Feel free to check out and register and post on that site, it helped me very much as I stated. Or send me a message!

Breast Reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

My daughter inlaw had it done and it is not a funny subject. She was teased in school and her back started aching, we paid for the reduction and she is happier.
