why are you asking for basketball?
it's probably the 2nd best sport to be a cheerleader for outside of football games and an added bonus is you get to be indoors for basketball which is a plus depending on how cold it is where you are
now being a cheerleader for baseball, tennis, or swimming is stupid

that is actual a pastime!!!! I did it for 9 years and it replaced into so difficult! I do agree that aggressive cheerleading is a pastime, not a lot cheering on the sidelines.. that is an truly risky pastime as well. I were given damage a minimum of once per week. the unhappy aspect is the way cheerleading is seen. I actual have heard that each and each one cheerleaders do is leap up and down and act dumb.(I proved this individual incorrect!) Its an truly difficult, aggressive, puzzling, stressful, and relaxing. I in simple terms want to assert to cheerleaders available; the those that do not call it a pastime.. they have not finished it!!!!!

nope im a cheerleader and a basketball player,pwder puff, softmall, and competitive cheerleader and so far compettitve cheer leading is the hardes and all the people who think cheerleading the stupid are just jelious of us cuz we get all the guys!!

no i would think that being a cheerleader for basketball is alot of fun!!!!! the reasons?
#1-you are inside and won't get so cold that your ninnies hurt
#2-basketball cheerleaders at my school were highly thought of.
#3-you can meet alot of people who can do things for you (like if you see a cute guy on the opposing team the opponent cheerleaders could introduce you to him)

Only you can make that decision. Who the hell am I or anyone else that responds to this to tell you what is "stupid" for YOU. Its only stupid if you feel that it is and do it anyway. If your okay with it, everyone has to be. Do not ever second guess or not do something you want to do because you are concerned about what people think. If you are not putting yourself or anyone else in any danger, tell everybody to dig a hole. I imagine you are young, so let me be the first to tell you that you will NEVER be free of critics/haters/*** holes as long as your on this earth and someone is always going to have something to say. All you can do is what you want to do and what you deem is best for you.

erm... i would sae no. bcoz when u play the game (not only basketball but other sports too), u needed motivation, i believe dat to hv someone to cheer for u, it will motivate you to played better in the game.

well if you love the sport shouldn't you be playing it? not cheering it on?go out there and do what you enjoy. if you like the cheering then do it! people will grow to be okay with it. doesn't matter if it's dumb or not. don't be afraid of a challenge.
