I think he's got a curse or maybe he's just making too many mistakes in the post season! What is his record 5-13?

I heard a lot of rumors floating around San Diego about this. I think he quite possibly could seeing as he threw the game today against the Patriots. That was supposed to be a hands down win and they gave up. What was with him not wearing his mic too? How did he expect to communicate with his team and do some real coaching. I think the team deserves a new coach who can take them to the level they deserve to be at.

As long dump A** marty is coaching, Chargers will never get to superbowl. yes 14-2 was a great season but that didn't mean anything if you can't bring it on the table in playoff. Great coach prepare players mentally not just play calling. why go for 4th and 11 and why challenge when you know the call was right. you don't trust your pro bowl kicker?? only loser do that. bottom line is Marty coaches to lose not to win. his record proof it.

Marty did make some mistakes on Sunday (going for it on 4th and 11) and considering his icy relationship with the GM, I think he will lose his job for it, but hey at least say this much for him: It wasn't his idea to let Drew Brees, the MVP runner up, go for absolutely nothing in return. (That was what caused his relationship with the GM Smith to detoriate)

Postseason numbers
Yds Att Cmp TDs Ints Rating
Brees 243 32 20 1 0 96.2
Rivers 230 32 14 0 1 55.5

personally as a charger fan, (not a bandwagon like alot of san diegans are, sorry but its true!) i think marty will get one last chance....it wasn't his fault we lost (except the challenged fumble), other that it was cam camerons fault (bad play calling), some players made mental mistakes )Eric parker & Marlon McCree, both costly fumbles) plus we have an unexperienced QB that still has alot to prove, As much as i love SD i gotta say that i hate the fact alot of the people in the stadiums were bandwagons, players started to talk ****, city of SD has always been like that, then the city gets cocky.....give pats credit they came up, but we will be back because we have a lot of talent...just knock off that individual bullshit!!!and well be ok.....

Not a chance. He has pieced together quite the team. Marty is a great coach. Should the colts release Peyton MAnning because he can't win in the playoffs. NO WAY!

what i have not heard discussed is the foolish use of time outs in the second half one right after a pat injury time out and the absurd red flag after mcree's inter/fumble if they had those time outs they might have been able to get a much closer field goal attempt seems like it falls on marty's head

hes not he doesnt even make the calls if anyone gets fired its cam cameron or wade phillips the call the plays but in reality the players lost the game not the coaches eric parker fumble and try to pick it up theyre taught to fall on it if they fumble the headbutt by drayton florence unnecessary dropped passes by receivers and the kicker supposedly "pro bowl" material but yet cant make a field goal in the playoffs if his life depended on it yep coming from a chargers fan point of view

Yes, his playoffs record is a miserable 5-13. I think they'll give him one last season. If they lose again in the playoffs, AJ Smith gives him the 'ol boot.

Probably not, he's made a terrible team in one of the NFL's best, at least in the regular season. I hope he finds a way to beat other teams in the playoffs
