a) We add 250 mL of concentrate to 3*250 = 750 mL of water, so the total amount of orange juice is 1000 mL = 1 L.

b) 1 can -> 1 L of juice, so for 5L we need 5 cans.

a. one 250 ml can of concentrate plus 3 250 ml cans of water makes 1000 ml of juice, ie, 1 L.

b. concentrate and water have a 1 to 3 ratio, so

c + w = 5 L
c + 3c = 5 L
4c = 5 L
c = 1.25 L = 5( .25 L) = 5 ( 250 ml) = 5 cans of concentrate.
