These are the basic steps for the use of spectrophotometers:
1. Warm the spectrophotometer for at least 10-15 minutes to stabilize the machine.
2. Select the appropriate wavelength
3. Select whether absorbance or transmittance
4. Wipe the cuvette, transfer the unknown and read
5. Record absorbances displayed through the digital display window.
