the phone I paid for hooked up under my own name with a new number. After sitting there for about 2 hours and the verizon reps finally figured out why *228 wasnt working, my oh so lovely ex boss reported my phone (THE PHONE I PAID FOR, TREO 700W...not even two months ago might I add) lost or stolen. Is there anyway I can get it unlocked so I can use it?

To start with, if you left amicably, you should call your ex-boss and explain the situation to him/her, and see if you can get the company to surrender their claim to your phone. If not, go track down your receipt of purchase and see if there's a local Verizon office where you can present it to refute their claim. Alternately, if you paid for it with a credit card, you can probably get the credit card company on your side to prove that you paid for it and not your previous employer. If all of those options fail, you're probably out of luck. The phone was billed to your previous employer, which proves their claim to it in the absence of any hard proof that the physical phone actually belongs to you regardless of the fact that the service was in their name. Anyways, good luck with that.

Can you call your ex employer and get it straightened out? If it is a big company you may just have to call accounting. Good luck.

You should hopefully have a receipt to prove your purchase. If they claim they reimbursed you, well then they should have proof of that as well. Good luck!
