It is likely that you will need to run a System Restore program. This should be on discs which you got when you bought your computer. Having said that our most recent laptop did not come with any discs. System Restore was among the programs on the hard disc and I was advised to put them on to CDroms in case the computer crashed. If you do not have discs, then I think you will have to contact your supplier or a recommended repairer.
Take care if doing it yourself. First of all try System Repair. If that doesn't work you'll have to do a FULL System Restore and that will take your computer back to its original factory settings. Bear in mind that you will lose all data stored on the hard disc if you do full system restore. If you do not have anything too important on the hard disc then this is probably your best option.

Check inside that the Power and Data Bus are both connected to your Master Hard Drive. If they are listen for the Hard Drive to spin. You can also test the Power Cable to the Hard Drive for voltage. Could be a part of the power supply out. If all this OK, then someone Formatted the Hard Drive or something.

Your hard drive probably crashed, or something is corrupted in Windows.

Was there anything important on your computer? If so you can take the hard drive and set it as a slave drive in another computer and see if you can read it and remove your files and documents.

Other than that, I would find the factory recovery disks that came with your machine and restore your system to the factory defaults.

If you have a bad hard drive, then you'll need to replace the hard drive before you can do a system recovery.

Means the device it is attempting to boot from does not have Windows installed. Remove floppy disks/cd(s)/dvd(s)/usb key(s) from the computer and reboot.

If it is not this, then your hard disk or controller could be faulty.

If this is the first time you have used the computer and it came with a windows cd, put this into the drive and folloe the prompts

That is not good - it sounds like you could have a boot section virus, bad hard drive, or corrupted file system.

Try inserting your restore or operating system disk and choosing the repair option - not the console repair.

Check to make sure you did not leave a disk in the floppy drive
Some computers forget they have a hard disk and you just have to remind them by going into the BIOS and saving the settings. The BIOS setup is accessed by a keystroke. When you turn the computer on you'll see a message. Press "..." to enter Setup.
