So many products out there how do you know which ones are effective and which aren't?

Not really, not according to Consumer Reports and the Journal of the American Medical Assocation.

The are better than nothing, but regular dishwashing soap is the most effective. If you read those labels on anti-bacterial soaps, they say to use them for two minutes, while dishwashing soap takes 15 to 20 seconds to do a better job.

Second place goes to regular bar soap, then antibacterial soaps, then those alcohol cleansers.

You just have to trust that they are. It's been said that after awhile, germs build up a resistance to them. Like hand soap, dishwashing detergent, etc.
