The most important thing is to follow any guidelines the application gives you. If you're unfortunate enough to have to write a personal statement, there are different schools of thought.

If you're going for a humanities degree, like English or history, sometimes creativity can be a good thing. I've had friends (all examples got into the schools they were applying to mind you) write essays like a fairy tale, screenplays, and in blank verse. I've also seen plenty of normal essays too. They want to see you have a good grasp of English and some personality to boot. Make sure to use capital letters and write "How many pages should the essay have?" and not "how many pages should have the essay?" Unless of course you're writing as Yoda which may or may not help you.

I'm guessing by your sentance structure and your lack of using the word "do" English isn't your first language. Get someone to proof read it for grammar and spelling. Little mistakes like that cost you a lot!

Use an easy to follow structure. A very basic and efficient style is a five point essay. As the name says it has five parts. First, an introduction. This should be a little catch and grab the reader's attention. It should also list about 3 points you're going to make in the essay. Parts 2, 3, and 4 are all the points your introduction talked about. The final part is the conclusion. You should briefly restate your 3 points and tie it all back to the introduction. This format is easy for the reader for follow and helps get your point across.

Also, avoid writing an essay about what you think they WANT to hear. If you write about you, make it you and not who you think they want. Include anything unusual, unique, or interesting. Leave out that you think the school you're applying to is the best school in the world. Best of luck to you.

Is this the personal statement in the application? Or a sample of writing skills (like part of an SAT test) ? These are totally different things. I have never heard of any entrance essay that was a book report. So I don't know what you meant by "how many books".

Go to your public library. They should have a selection of books about writing college admissions essays. These books will have examples of admissions essays. One such book is:

Goof-proof college admissions essays / Lauren Starkey.
New York : LearningExpress, c2003.

Also, make sure you read any instructions for such an essay on the form you are filling out. If it says 500 words, write about 500 words. If it says write about a particular topic, write about that topic. Good luck.

whether he by some potential were, that's not likely Obama could himself be responsive to. apparently not one of the human beings who spew this foolishness have ever study the regulation, the college policies for the quite a few establishments, or any of the information mendacity around from the quite a few college administrations or perhaps intense faculties that have sturdy information of Obama's attendance. For one element, "Affirmative action" comes into play purely on the admissions element, or perhaps then, purely with scholars who're by some potential "iffy". Obama had educational scholarships moving into, documented in numerous Chicago courses, so that's merely approximately impossible he'd have been on the fringe of any margins. whether he were, he does not be responsive to until he inquired, and formally so. His admission to Harvard--and returned, bits and products of an rather sturdy educational history are accessible, enormously from Occidental and Columbia, and his GPA as quickly as he started undergrad had to have been VERY sturdy to learn the honors he did, and a few of it is around in stressful replica, printed form--could actual have been way exterior Affirmative action issues. that's greater smoke and mirrors from the "lunatic fringe" hate gadget and semi-literates like the "3 stooges". It has no validity and no actual which potential, any further than something of this drivel.
