I never get allowance. I cant wear faded new style jeans because they are professional people parent. i have no cellphone and all of my school mates. About 1000 students in our school and 998 has cell phone which mean me and my brother don't. All they care is report card. I have no game system. When we get home all they want us is to study. Study. Study. No American children study at home except for homework and quizzes. They always say advance. and all they care is 4.0. I had 3.7 they didnt even give me a Ps2. They say nothing until 4.0. I am embrasure i have no faded or new style jeans because it is not professional and always buy shirts and khaki and black dress pants and always tuck in. what can i do. I have no MP3 player and they think it is bad. Please give me some advice that can make them better. How do American kids have lots of money in their wallet or purse. by allowance of course but i cant. I clean everything in the house. Don't know why they do this? I need help? Advice.

What you should be doing is studying. You are a kid, you don't need a cell phone. Getting a PS2 will make you fat and rot your brain. Clothes are not important and why would you pay lots of money for jeans that are already worn out. If you have to have these material things, I suggest you get a part time job. Then you will know why it so valuable to work hard in school and the value of a dollar.

I dont agree with the cell phone part. You dont need that but I do agree they go too far. You do need some kind of motivation, we all do. a 3.7 is excellent and they are being too hard on you.
All you want is to fit in and be yourself.
I hate to say this because I wouldnt want you messing up your future, you dont say how old you are but have you considered going on strike? (refusing to do any house work and refusing to go to school or do any homework)
you need to do soemthing drastic that will get their attention but not harm anyone.
But you should compromise a little too. If you go on strike decide which things are most important to you, like the game system and jeans. Try to get them to negotiate. Tell them that even THEY work for a reward and if they never got paid they would want to give up too. Tell them no one is perfect and it doesnt mean you should have to live with no enjoyable reward.

They are doing what they feel is best for you and they may have a point but it is a little exteme. Try asking if you can get a job. If not, remember that studying is what will get you into college and out of the house. Worked for me

I know its upsetting all these things but I had a similar childhood, we didn't even have TV. Let me assure you though, your parents are doing an awesome job. You will be a better grownup for it. They are teaching you very valuable lessons! One of the reason America is going to pot is because of our extravagance and sloth. It sounds like your parents are giving you a very sound foundation for a successful life! One day you will be thanking them.

talk to them about how different you feel from other people your age.
say if they do not compromise with u, u will just not do any school work. thatll get their interest.
