What is the goddess Athena carrying?

That stick thing.. is it a spear? or is there any special name given to it.

In Greek, it is called λόγχη, which translates simply to "spear."

She is not always depicted carrying a spear, but when she is, the presence of the spear may be referring to her birth, fully armed, from the head of Zeus.

That is just a spear - no special name (that I know of).
