Show them that you are serious and this is something you really want to do for a while, not just something that sounds like fun. Research modeling careers, find out the pros and cons. Know what you're getting into and what you're talking about. If they see you're serious, they might change their minds.

Well, if I were you, I would talk to them about why they don't want to sign a contract. You should try to address their concerns, and if they really don't want you to model, you might have to wait a few years.

tell them its good money, and if you want to persue a career in that path it is a good thing for applications and such, and you learn alot too. and make sure you telll them you willl keep up with your studies. and make sure you actaully follow through with it, and dont give up when it gets hard. they have to do alot of driving to get you to any shooots, so you should tell them...some of your modeling money can go to the gas costs. and then say you will put a portion of that money into a savings account.
