No I don't think so. It's the one day of the year when you are "special".

Yes, they do. You'd be surprised how many people take a day off work/school for their birthday. In my opinion, birthdays are personal events. It's not like it's a holiday or something.

Some people think it's a holiday. Personally, I like to forget I'm having another birthday.
