It is really up to you and him. I was friends with my husband before we started dating, but if things don't work out then how well will your friend ship be. A way to avoid being weird around each other if it doesn't work out is to before hand agree that you will continue to be friends if things don't work out as being more. If you are compatible as friends you are more than likely compatible as more than friends. Like I said my husband and I were friends for a year or two before we started dating, and well obviously we are married and have been for a year and a half. Just make sure to agree for things not to change as friends if it doesn' t work out as more than friends

The obvious answer is yes. So, not wanting to be an obvious sort of guy, I'll give you a different answer.... No.
If you like this person then whats wrong with dating them. When you date someone, you should date them as if they are your best friend not beacuse they look good or have a good car or something as pathetic as that.

Whats wrong with dating a friend, he/she is obviously someone you have known for a while. Besides those are the best relationships, its better someone you know than a complete stranger that you have to start from the bottom and work your way up with..

My best friend and I have been friends with benefits for 6yrs. Longer than any purely romantic relationship. We don't do jealousy and put our friendship 1st. If one sees a relationship they wanna try then that's kewl cuz as friends 1st u want them to be happy--but when it doesn't work we are there for each other. You have to b mature enough to cope though...and set ground rules going in.

its okay if its okay to your friend anyway you both like each other and has known each other for a longtime so nothigs wrong. maybe your relationship might last long and you two were really meant for each other... how sweet!!!!!!!!remember that what mostly happens in a case just like yours.

Think this one through completely because once you cross the line it's hard to go back. You may gain a boyfriend now,but if it doesn't work out you may lose a friend forever.

Ihad a best friend in Utah. He liked me for a while, couple of years and i didnt really notice it and my friends would all give me crap about it. I would just be like no way!!! grose!! he is my friend!!! I didnt think anything of it.
Suddenly, one day.......it changed. I was TOTALLY flipped for him. We dated briefly, we knew it was right, he got scared and I'm married to someone else now. He messed up, used to call and admit it to me.
Now he is finally married- Yes, date your friend. You should marry your best friend.
