I am trying to find the setting in XP that changes the shadowing outline when you drag a box with your mouse?

Hey there,

Right click on your desktop and select Properties. Goto the Appearance tab, under Effects.

Also, you can go to control panel and under performance option, you should be able to customize the appearance. You can right click on MY computer and select properties, the go to the Advanced Tab, and Performance option. Look through the list.

It might be 3D objects under the Appearance Tab, Advanced Settings in the Display Applet.
