This is actually a really good question because it hangs on the notion that there is a "gay community" to begin with and that would depend on the socio-economic and environmental notion of the "gay ghetto". There are also Gay owned and run businesses and community groups with the gay community who have to promote diversity in their policies to ensure that there is not the criticism that there are hierarchies in the gay communities that do exist.
I think on one hand it is true that the mainstream gay community does have to promote itself as being inclusive and welcoming of diversity and there has been much community promotion of diversity. However in real terms, the inclusiveness of people who are different (as in trans, bisexual etc) and their experiences points to the fact that the mainstream gay community is so very not supportive of diversity in its members.

Unfortunately the word "diversity" has just become rhetoric. Most people who seem to use it these days don't fully embtace diversity. Like you won't see many trying to understand and talk calmly with preachers who call homosexuality a sin. People of the gay (or any minority/oppressed) community talk about having an open mind, but in all honesty, many really don't. Not that I necessarily agree with those preachers, but I sure don't think the reactions of the gay community is always the best. Sometimes it's good to stand up defiantly for what you beleive, and many times people had a right to feel angry, but too many people only do that and don't engage in serious open discourse.

This, of course, is not limited to the gay community,

In short, yes. Part of it is political: HRC has been especially guilty in the past of "cleaning up" the image of the community they're representing. So that when they're fighting for equal rights, they're fighting for the rights of the white suburban lesbians with 2.5 kids and a couple of dogs, instead of the gay-ghetto leather daddies who also want the same access to the same rights. Or, to a lesser extreme, ANYONE who doesn't look like the politicians they're appealing to.

You know, I never get what your problem with the LGBT community is, but the way you ask questions its always obvious that you do have a problem with at least the one in your area. I would love to say, "I'm sorry that you do," but the fact is, you may deserve the problem you have with it. Did you ever consider that?

Around here, we welcome and love our Transgendered, our drag queens (who ARE quite fabulous and celebrated Nation wide) more Miss Gay America's have come from my state than any other, we have many disable (mostly deaf) queers who are quite cute, and the lesbians are our most vocal group. We do lack alot of people of color, but we have some asians and blacks, however, that has nothing to do with gays accepting THEM, and has more with their OWN SOCIETY accepting them.

The gay community as a whole might (but I hope not) but I don't. I figure if you can't get along with yourself you'll never get along with your neighbor; if you can't get along with your neighbor...it turns into a never-ending circle. I figure just try to be kind to people. Yep, there are people it is damedably hard to be kind to...Dick Cheney is one of them and there are a few that one is never not going to get along with. Learn to live with it and just leave them alone instead of poking at them. Diversity is what makes a world. It'd be really boring if it were all the same. Although I love your pink hat, Ashley, my Dear, I wouldn't want to wear one...I'll keep my Packer hat. Blessings.

We are sorry we are going to hell? We all give up? God save us?

or well fine if you're going to post that many question than maybe I'm not gay/bi?!

To be honest, what else can we say besides what we already reply to posters?
