Other quarterbacks might be more talented than Brady, but the Patriots play as a unit. They don't rely on one or two "stars" to pull the team to victory. Because their teamwork is so well-practiced, they have a multitude of options and resources to tap, so they win on their ability to think strategically in ways that other teams wouldn't consider. Their moments of good fortune benefit them too, but lucky breaks occur for every team. It's just because the Patriots are on top that their lucky moments are scrutinized as the be-all and end-all of their success. There's more to it than that.
In reference to the naysayers: unless comments are strictly about the way the team plays football (and not, say, about BB's hoodie or Tom Brady's love life) it's nothing but envy on the part of the critic, and as such, completely discountable.

Well, as a hardcore Patriot fan, I agree. There was no luck, just experience. When Brady/Brown was intercepted, Brown didn't just give up. He went for the strip and the Pats got the ball right back. That people, is what a good team will do... They don't worry about mistakes, they just reset themselves and get their composure back. Brady was intercepted for a 3rd time on that throw, but forgot about the pick and they went for the end zone, got the two point conversion and we all know what happened after that... San Diego played a decent game, but they just don't have the experience to get it done when it counts. AND HERE IS THE SCARY PART.... If the Pats can defeat the Chargers on their field when they played lousy, imagine what they can do to the Colts if they play a great game next week..... BE AFRAID!!!!

The Patriots do get lucky. Lets face it. Winning two super bowls by a field goal at the expiration of the clock is all luck. Being able to make it to the playoffs without a single good receiver is lucky. The list just goes on and on.

I'm not taking from the Patriots victory; I have nothing against them. I'm just saying that both teams made a ton of mistakes, and I'm still stuck on that fourth down interception (which was a dumb call by the Chargers), fumble, and Pats recovery for a first down. It took a while for it to sink in because I just "knew" the Chargers still had the ball, but when ref said Pats had the ball, I was like you gotta be kiddin' me. It was a good game overall, but if you don't think that at least that ONE play was lucky then you're just delusional.

This team has been called lucky since they beat the Rams. Everyone always says that because the other teams have more independant talent that they should win. And statistically throughout history they are right. But not with these patriots, and not with Tom Brady. Everyone knows that Peyton Manning has more talent in one hand than Brady does in his whole body. but you can't win super bowls on talent alone. The Pats have proven all the doubters wrong time and time again. And they are about to do it again. With another ring

True you can say a team doesnt get lucky but that doesnt mean a player cant
Tom Brady played the biggest sh*t game and by all rights should be watching next weeks game from his vacation home...
However luckily for him, other players (like troy brown stripping that ball on the interception) did enough to earn it for them...
So yea, teams dont get lucky but players do...

I think every football game has an element of luck to it. The Patriots got lucky. The Chargers were playing like they were an NFC team!
