Bush isn't telling you want to believe or doesn't represent YOUR beliefs, apparently. To think that he is telling you "what to believe" kinda disproves your last theory.

The president of the United States is meant to serve 5 purposes
1 chief diplomat
2 chief executive
3 chief legislator
4 chief of state
5 commander in chief
His job is not to tell you what to think and what to believe you must remember the president is supposed to be employed by the American people not the American special interest groups. The process is supposed to go the people elect the house the people and the house elect the president. The House is meant to act as an intermediary between the population and the president of the United States by relaying public wants and needs to the executive branch.

Neither really. His job is to execute the laws of the US. He can, should & does comunicate his vision to us. You don't have to agree with that vision, but it is still his job to comunicate it.
As for "representing our beliefs", that's why we have elections. There is nothing in the Constitution about making decisions based on the latest opinion polls. IMHO, that is a very bad way for a president to try to lead. We elected him to excercise his best judgement. Nobody expects you or anyone else to agree with his decisions all the time. I don't even agree with my own decisions all the time. He still has both the responsibility & authority to continue making decisions till 1/20/09.

Review the oath of office of the president . Now lets see that would be .
I do solemnly swear that i will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States ,and will to the best of my ability , preserve , protect ,and defend the constitution of the United States .
I does not say I will pass a torture bill .Hold people without a trial indefinitely . These are just a couple of things ,from a list of many, of the violations ,of the oath of office Bush swore on Twice now as I recall ..

"God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them." -George W Bush, 06.25.03

"I also have this belief, strong belief, that freedom is not this country's gift to the world; freedom is the Almighty's gift to every man and woman in this world. And as the greatest power on the face of the Earth, we have an obligation to help the spread of freedom." This is Bush saying that he is doing God's work in Iraq.

His job is to represent our best interest. But before that hes got to convince you that he will do so. Most important is YOUR job to pick the right person to represent you (us) according to YOUR beliefs. I once voted for "someone" who proved not worthy.

Bush's job is to repreasent us for the period of time he was elected. He hasn't changed since his first election and yet a majority of Americans re-elected him. He formulates policy and as Commander-in-Chief controls the armed forces. If we don't like his policies we must elect people who aren't like him. Some of that started in the mid term elections last year.

Oh, no doubt he is told what he is suppose to tell the people what they should believe. But I happen not to be one of those who believes anything that he says. Like the old saying....believe nothing you see(9-11) and only half of what you hear.

What do you mean by "beliefs". typically that word deals with religion.

in one wording it is his job to "represent" the views of the people. each elective candidate has certain views. during the election we learn of the views of the candidates. and the candidate that the majority of the people has the same views as gets elected. so in that sense, the elected official does carry out the views and opinions of the majority of the people, being that he got the majority of the votes. but it is not this black and white. people vote for different reasons, "the better of 2 evils" being one. that aside, bush did NOT get the vote of the majority of the people. the electoral college is a bunch of CRAP and needs to be done away with. we by far have the technological capability to count EXACTLY the number of votes of every single voter in the country.

The president, or any official does not tell us what to believe. now, his actions can effect peoples opinions. but any joe smo can do this. in a perfect world, because the "majority" of the citizens agree with an official, the laws he creates are agreed upon by the "majority". again, not black and white.

ok. now that i answerd the question i can rant on bush. i caint stand bush, and i caint stand the united states. our economy system SUCKS and any economy system for that matter that uses the poorest people to make the richest people richer is crap. if it was up to me huge companies like walmart, microcrap (m$) and all these huge butt companies would be forced to put money back into the economy rather than their already outlandishly huge bank accounts. bla bla bla, yes i know this is very unamerican, and uncapitolistic. and it would NOT be fair for the people on top to be forced to give up money they could have. but the simple fact is that is that if they had 3 million rather than 5 millinon dollars a year it woudl NOT change their lifestyle. and what it owuld accomplish is economy growth so that people like me woudl be able to find a decent job an wouldn't have to spend time living in the back of a pickup. im glad we are having a crap winter or else i would get real dad burn cold. frickin dad burn global warming. caint even go ice fishing.

the family of the guy that drove planes into the towers has very close ties with the bush family. though he is a bit of an outcase of the family. he is proally chillin at bushes ranch right now.

it seems strange that the buildings did not fall the way they should have. the only buildings that fall straight down are ones with explosives stragitically placed for demolition. i think the anti christ might have had something to do whith this whole event to fuel tarrisim and fit into his plan of taking over the world. thats just a personal believe.

boy i caint spell worth crap didily.

yes, something needed to be doe in iraq. but this is NOT what needed to be done. furthermore, if bush woudlent have done this with a bunch of lies the people would stand with him. he used lies and deciete to go to "invation",, this is not a "war". statistics show that iraq people fear death alot more now than before we took over.
if bush would have just came out and said "crap, this man is an idiot and we need to get him out of power" then i believe that alot more people would support him.
who says we need to push our form of government onto everyone else anyway. we need to fix our own problems first anyway. know this, if i lived in france, i could go to a doctor and get my collar bone fixed so it would not be only half connected.

as much as i dont like bush, i do believe that he is the "better of 2 evils". that other guy was a moron that fliped floped on every issue anyway. he would have hurt our economy even more.

did i mention that bush has ran several companies into the ground. think about this. clinton, though he discrased us in front of the entire planet, left us with money. the first time our government actually came out ahead in decades. we actually made more money during his administration than what we spent. we took a few feet forward. as soon as bush got into office it was gone, all of it. an more. we are more in debt. our citizens and the economy is worse off, and we have absolutly nothing to show for it. the so called war isent even making us any money. this is the first time in earth history that a war did not help the economy.

its war for oil. which did NOT effect gas prices. also contemplate this. gas prices tripled or more, but actual OIL. quorts of OIL, as NOT gone up like gas. so if the OIL in iraq has effected the GAS prices, then why hasent the OIL in iraq NOT effected the price of ..... OIL. and now that we have access the the oil that they was saying not having access to creaded hte prices, why hasent the price droped.
this is why. its simple

supply and demand.

no matter what, people must drive to work, truckers must drive to move product. no matter the price, people will buy gas because they caint walk for 2 hours to get to work. yes, they drive less. but still drive neverthe less. oil companies know this. so they gouge because we have no choice. we must drive to work

boy, i wish i could find a job.
