A friend of mine has a horse that is due to have a baby any day now. If it is a girl she is going to keep it but if it's a boy she's going to let me get it. I need some help picking out a name for it. I thought maybe an indian name or something different. Any suggestions?

It can be of any origin. Please list the origin and meaning of the name too if you know it. Thanks!

I wasn't sure if you meant an Indian name or an American Indian name, so I've included a couple from both...
Indian:
Akash: means sky
Amitabh: one with boundless splendor

Native:
Akecheta: warrior
Ayasha: little one

Most horse names come from a combination of the sire and the dam's name with an added twist, or just the sireor dam's with its own added end. Think of what you would be comfortable calling him on a day to day basis. Like, my palomino's registered show name is It's Gold Magic but his barn name is Spanx. It tried to name my filly before she was born (went with Skips Fancy Dream) but after she was born and a day old I saw her personality was much more "bouncy" and changed it to Miss Mountin Melody. So you might want to just wait until the foal is born but just play with some ideas. Looking up baby names online is a good way to get some ideas

If you will be showing your horse, I would pick a show name and then shorten it to a barn name. A great show name is The Last One Standing you can call it Gunner. Good Luck!

I picked the name "Ashley Gracie" for my Dachshund dog. I just adopted her on Thursday at around 3 years old, and she's my angel. I think the name "Ashley" is the prettiest name ever. :-D You can call her "Ash", "Ashy", "Ashes" for short. I think of someone who's very lady like (e.g. gentle, soft, kind, loving, warm, compassionate...) when I think of that name.

For a boy, I picked out the name "Nicky" for my cat. I think of a man who's "on top of the world", it represents "Strength" to me. But then again, that's just me. I think it's "masculine".
