I think 1 (Curse of the Black Pearl) is better but my brother thinks it sucks and thinks 2 (Dead Man's Chest) is better.

Two will make more sense after three is released as it wasn't scripted as a stand alone movie. Personally i didn't care for the evolution of the Kierra Knightly/Orlando Bloom characters in part 2 and I've never been a big fan of Bill Nighy (Davy Jones), more for his voice than acting ability.

I think that Curse of the Black Pearl is way better. In Dead Man's Chest they relied entirely too much on special effects.

I loved them both. The first had a complete ending and was fun. The second movie was thrilling and left you on the edge of your seat.
Either way you can't loose.

The first one was much better. The second one drags, just too much action for too long going on.

Although I love the Pirate dice game that is from second movie.

the first one
it was a complete story, no cliffhangers
(the second is obviously setting up a third)
the second one was funny, but the first had a lot more
dramatic tension

I really liked both of them!! But if I would HAVE to pick i would say the second one.
