For the past few hours I have been having quick jabs in my vagina???? I have no idea what this is. I am 36 weeks, my last dr appt was on thurs the 11th and I was 70% effaced and 2 cm dilated. This is my second child. Is this my cervix dilating? Also, my belly feels like it is constantly hard? Help please, I was at the hosp last Sunday and they sent me home, I can't afford to go again unless this is the real thing.

Could be labor. Definitely call your doc. I know you don't want to go to the hospital for no reason, but don't necessarily wait for typical labor symptoms, not all women get them. A lot of women are in full blown labor and don't realize it because they are waiting for this set list of symptoms they get told about, but labor doesn't always happen like it does in the books. Trust your gut and good luck.

I have gotten those feelings before. I have 3 boys and Im pregnant with my 4th. I am 30 weeks and already feels jabs way down below and it hurts and is uncomfortable. It is probably just that your baby is very low. I was 2 cm dilated for over a month when I was pregnant with my first and I had him the day before his due date. I was 4 cm dilated with my 3rd for a couple of weeks too. When you go into labor you will feel cramps. They may start out light and get stronger (unless you sleep through the light cramps then you could go into full force painful cramps like I did with my first and was woken up by them ) or maybe your water will break first, then they will start.., etc.. You will know when you go into labor, and will know when its the real thing. Trust me. Yes , so many women go to the hospital several times thinking they are in labor, but once you go into real labor you wont mistake it.

Well, when it is the real thing you will definately know. If there is pain.. lots of pain and pressure in your back that will be a sure sign you are in labor. Also are you bleeding? I don't know about the quick jabs, i have those jabs now at 30 weeks and had them early on with my first child, too. I would wait a while to see how it progresses. Like I said, once REAL labor sets in, you'll know it.

Quick jabs?? Like knife stabbing pains?? If that is what you are referring too. I had that and my Dr said it was my body getting ready to have the baby. If your uterus is constantly contracting and not letting up I would go to the hospital. Try drinking water, I would always have contractions because I wasn't hydrated enough.

It sounds like the hard tummy is contractions. I would start timing them. IF they are 5 min apart for about 45 min then its time to go to the hospital. As far as the quick jabs...thats just the baby probably socking you one. My son did that to me ALOT towards the end when he was engaged.

GOOD LUCK

During my last weeks of pregnancy, I felt like my daughter was somehow kicking my cervix. There were really sharp pains, and if I was driving I would have to pull over. I believe it is false labor. It's tough because it hurts, so how can it be false, right? But it's just your body getting ready for labor.

Walk if possible. If it's too painful, you have to be in "praising" position, you know, kneel down and then put both hand on the ground and then put your head on the upper part of your hand.

If you are going to labor, you back will be very painful, your back, your tushy and then the bottom of your belly.

Good luck! My prayer with you!

They always told us that a way to tell if it's true labor is to drink a couple glasses of water and lay on your left side, this usually stops braxton hicks, if not, I'd call!! good luck!!
