My husband and I have planned this pregnancy, and we were very excited to see a positive result on my HPT this past week. However, I woke up this morning to abdominal cramping and bright red blood, and brownish blood when I went to the bathroom. I went to ER, they took blood and urine and came back with positive pregnancy results. However, after 5 vaginal ultrasounds - they found no sign of the embryo/fetus. They also have ruled out an eptopic pregnancy for now. I should be (by ours & Md's calculations) in my 5th week. They are not sure if I had a miscarriage this morning (no tissue or clots were evident), or if it is just too early to see anything? My HGC levels were high and showed signs of pregnancy in 4/5th week. They have me going back for more blood tests in 48 hours. Has anyone else had this and could this still be a healthy pregnancy?

I had an ultrasound at about 5 weeks, they said they couldn't see a baby yet just an egg sac. He also said that the sac looked too low for implantation. I was so upset it had taken me 6 months to get pregnant and i normally get pregnant in the first month. After a few more weeks of blood tests and ultrasounds, we where pregnant and everything has progressed normally. However I didn't have bleeding, miscarriage is very common, but still very upsetting (i have had 2 b4 my first child). Only time will tell, try not to stress, its not good for pregnancy.

I am so sorry that you are going through all of this confusion. It can't be easy to deal with...and I hope that everything works out for the best. I had a miscarriage when we were trying to get pregnant before I had my first child. I can honestly tell you that it's really different for everyone. I didn't have quite the problems you had, either. I didn't have any cramping that I was aware of...the doctor said it could have happened in my back, and I didn't feel it as much as others may. I did, however, have the presence of bright red blood. Again, I'm sorry that you're having to go through all of this. I hope that you and your husband get good news, and if you don't...don't give up hope! It took me quite a long time to get pregnant with my first child. Then, while on birth control, I got pregnant with my second child when the first was only 7 months old! So, we tried for the first, and were just "oops" blessed with the second : ) Everything happens for a reason.

I miscarried at five weeks and did not have pass no clots/tissue. I did not bleed heavy either. The blood was red to light red to brown in color.
I hurt alot on my back and stomach and was also tired. They done an ultrasound on me and they couldn't find anything so i had already miscarried. I had bled for 6 days but not heavy because i thought i was having a second period in that month. (Had my period for that month then started bleeding again)
I didn't even know i was pregnant though i finally went to the er and that is when i found out i was pregnant and miscarrying.
Your story sounds like mine, i am sorry this is happening to you. I hope it dosen't end in miscarriage. Good luck

As the pregnancy is so new it's sometimes difficult to se the embryo. Could it have been the implantation that caused the blood stains? This is very common although not all women get an implantation bleeding. I would advice on hanging in there and go for another ultrasound in w. 7.

if they did a u/s and saw no fetus--that is not good.
if you did miscarry, the hgc hormone doesnt leave your body right then--it takes about a week or two after a miscarriage for the hormone to be gone, so that will give + pregnancy/blood tests.
I really dont know what to say. I think you miscarried & Im sorry if you did.
when will you be seeing your regular doctor again?

I bled a lot with my first pregnancy but that was before ultrasounds and things were popular. I did end up have a healthy baby boy who is now 22 years old.
Good luck!
