From here in North Texas---we travel across the Oklahoma border into a place a short hop outside Lawton, Oklahoma to a place called Meers, Okla. --- a mere (pun fun) dot on the map with no more than like 100 population---- There is where you find the MEERS CAFE in operation for something like 100 years it is a marvel of atmosphere----still has an old mining town / saloon feel to the place (and I mean --the REAL stuff -- not the designer--made to look that way garbage)----At this place they serve among other things----THE MEERS BURGER---made of 100% Longhorn beef--raised with no perservatives or additives of any type----and Super Fresh---(they have their own herd !!)----this burger can be purchased in "kiddy size" which is about the size of a normal super burger elsewhere or in Meers size which is about the size to cover a normal 12" plate !! They have fresh "grown in thier own gardern" makings on this thing and I'm telling you---it will knock your butt OUT !! People regularly drive 50 to 150 miles to eat there----our drive is basically 100 miles !!

And, the steaks in this place--- I mean-- come on--- they will addict you and make you take a second job to support your habit !!!! Cooked on open pits that are fired with their own invented mix of woods----It is unbelievable and to be experienced for one's self to even get a clue how good !!

I'm just outside Phila and the best burgers are at a place called Coleman's. It's a farm that has been converted into Normandy Farms...a restaurant and conference center. They use local meats and produce. Elegant (but relaxed) atmosphere and great ingredients.

FYI: Hoagies are bigger than burgers over here. For that, go to Primo's in South Philly. It's worth the drive. They are also fattening. One a year is more than enough!

Currently I live in Ohio, and I am not outrageously crazy about any particular place. However I MUST say that I am originally from Oklahoma (17 yrs lived there) in Lawton, OK which is also near Ft. Sill, OK. Out in the wildlife refuge area, there is a place actually called or referred to as Meer's (sp). They have absolutely the BEST burgers I've ever eaten in my life. They are probably at least 8 inches in diameter (literally the patty & bun) and every bite is sooo worth it. Yumm..dang I wish I could go back for one now!

The best burger I've ever had was in Albuquerque, NM. It was at a restaurant called "Gardunoz". It was a green chili cheese burger with swiss cheese, hatch chili all over it, tomatoes, onion, it was wonderful! It was the best hamburger I've ever had! Juicy, fat, everything that a good burger should be.
I'm drooling a little bit just thinking about it...

Ooh, I agree. I was just gonna say that too...right when I saw the question, I thought In N Out even before I saw your answer. Hehe. I live in northern california and In N Out is definitely the best. However, I don't like their fries too much. Not enough flavor. But burgers...yum.

The best burger is a burger what has been bought by someone else. For whatever reason - it tastes so much better when someone else buys it. And my wallet feels happy about that too!

#1 IN and Out
#2 Fudruckers
#3 IN and Out

IN and Out because they taste amazing. They don't freeze anything. Oh, by the way, if you think IN and Out fries are bland, that's because they aren't seasoned with what McDonald's calls "natural flavor" a.k.a. beef fat. Yeah, look it up.
