I am sure people do try this mythical activity it, but can you really tip a cow??? I am a heretic southerner because I don't know the answer to this question. The most definitive info I have ever seen on the subject was on Beavis & Butthead. I wish Myth Busters would do a show about it but I'm sure PETA would get pissed.

it is not a myth i am from farm country. it doesn't hurt them, it does confuse them though.
if u think this is weird then u would cr*p ur pants to know u can hypnotize a chicken.
if u make them set on the ground and lay there head flat on the ground. u take a stick and go back and fourth around the frount of there head, then release them they will lie there until someone or something moves them. my buddies dad showed us this. so one night drinking beer and bored we took about 6 hens and lined them down the side of an unused raod.....so we thought. while we was in the barn getting more hens a truck came by and................well lets just say we ate chicken for a few nights.

I dunno...lived around cows all my life, but they scare me enough that I'm not gonna try to tip 'em. That would be a good Myth Buster...they cud (pardon the pun!) use a fake cow!
Now, snipe hunting is another story...

Yes, you can. Cows sleep standing up. So, what you have to do is go into the pasture at night, while the cows are sleeping. Then all you have to do is come up beside them (quietly) and push.

No if you have ever tried to tip a cow which I might have done in a drunken stupor once,maybe.The cow will lean its weight back against you.But it is really fun to get your Northern buddies to try it.
