It is not uncommon to experience a brown discharge during pregnancy, obviously the first thought is often that something is wrong. However this is not always the case. In our experience, many women have had some kind of discharge right through the first trimester, although it is important to arrange for a Doctor to check you out if this does happen to you as there can be all manner of reasons why this might happen, some of them are not too positive.
One of the more common reasons for a brown discharge during pregnancy, especially if it is late in the first trimester is that your body is getting rid of the older blood remains. As your body grows, the original blood used to protect junior is no longer needed. So aside from starting a heart attack in mom as she panics at the sight of the discharge, it is perfectly normal.
Like we have already mentioned, it is always best to err on the side of caution if you do experience this. A quick phone call to your mid wife or Doctor should put your mind at rest, it is so easy during pregnancy to pick hold of something and begin to worry about it, that the best thing is always to double check and make sure everything is alright. The less worked up you are during pregnancy then hopefully the less complications you will have.
I remember having a bit of brownish discharge when I was pregnant. Wait a week or two and take a pregnancy test. Or go to the doc and have them give you a blood test. Good luck.

I think you should just definately get a pregnancy test and take it asap. Possibly buy a 2 pack even or more than one because if you decide to take it tonite and it comes up negative..you should wait till tomorrow morning or a couple days at least and retest. Possibly first morning urine if possible, because that is when your body has held the most in for the longest amount of time. Giving it time to become concentrated and not diluted from your daily drinking. In the end you should possibly also go ahead and give your OB a visit just to check things out. It could also always be something else, and that is not always a good thing. Good luck!

Sometimes your body will put out a brownish discharge before you start bleeding. It is just the uterus way, just like the period, of getting rid of the lining in the uterus when it was getting ready for pregnancy.
Your uterus automatically gets ready for pregnancy even if you don't have sex. Part of it's job is to always be ready. I wouldn't worry just yet about pregnancy. Wait a week and if you don't' get it then. Go to your doctor and request a blood pregnancy test. Blood pregnancy test is much more effective then urine test.
Best of luck,

This could be implantation bleeding. It usually happens at the time of your period. Its the fertilized egg planting itself in your uterus. Its one of the signs of pregnancy. Good luck! ~Kristin~

well you have yourself prepared--so everything you do/feel/think right now has something to do with pregnancy in your mind-
take a test-that is the only way to know and put yourself at ease.
