I went to school with him (Live in Canton, OH) & still see him when he visits & I want to set the record straight. What you see on stage is just an act. The guy is an ok nice kind of guy. Sorry to spoil so many people's image of him but it is true. But he is an ok guy. It is ALL an act. Just like Alice Cooper, KISS, GWAR, all those "shock rocker" types. How else would they make money if not by "shock" value??

The guy is very intelligent. Most people just blow off his music because he has the creepy, satanic image. I use to listen to his music cuz I liked his music, but when I started to analyze his lyrics it really is intelligent poetic lyrics. I remember my English professor telling us after watching American Beauty that the underlying message in the movie is that the beautiful things in life are free. In the song beautiful people there is a part in the song that says something like something beautiful is something free. I think his first cd Portrait of an American Family is really an amazing cd from a lyrical perspective. However, the fact that he released the next cd smells like children and had many of the same songs remixed was really a stupid thing to do. His new stuff I have not gotten into because the last cd I bought was very disappointing Holywood. I think he needs to change his approach in what he wants his music to say it is getting very redundant.

Marilyn Monroe is on my wallet. =] Heh. i'd ought to opt for Marilyn Monroe, her videos are classics & she grow to be very pleasing. Her childhood grow to be a warfare yet she managed to achieve fulfillment, even if her existence style earlier and through repute took a toll on her existence, she grow to be stunning. Marilyn Manson does a variety of of covers, trust it or no longer. And Marilyn Manson does no longer act/seem the way he does if he did not favor money. have you ever considered images earlier he went fashionable? i wager no longer.

dude has got some issues, even off stage. his wife burlesque performer Dita Von Tesse just filed for divorce because he has become recluse? he has not talked to her in months even though they still live in the same house (when he is around). she says she still loves him and she dont know why he is acting like this. and he barricades himself in rooms? he seems like a smart man, i personally dont support his message, but i dont support a lot of people's messages. i dont think he is ignorant. just free speech i guess. i thought he was just an entertainer with a target audience until i read that article about his wife. Apparently he's got some real PROBLEMS. anyway hes a human and i hope he can work it out. it would be hilarious if he came back out as a devout christian.

He is certainly odd. I've never listened to his music. He's made A LOT of money based on his style and shock value. I'm sure he'll always be listed on the MTV or VH! shows that spot light "most outrageous" performers.

I guess talent is so common that you pretty much have to have some sort of gimmick to be a success in the entertainment industry.

I've always known the original song 'sweet dreams' but once when i was in my car Marilyn's version came on and i got so scared i had to turn the station!!! The guy freaks me out but you gotta admire his originality!

Id go with the alice cooper copycat. They call it shockrock for a reason, although some of his stuff isnt too bad, the more makeup they wear usually the worse the music.
