If non-custodial parent doesn't have childrens address can they just send letter to child support and will they forward it? Is I couldn't find your address a good defense for no contact with children in 12 years?

IN MY STATE (WASHINGTON) THE ANSWER IS YES AS LONG AS THERE IS NOT A "NO CONTACT" ORDER IN PLACE ON THE NON CUSTODIAL PARENT-THE DIVISION OF CHILD SUPPORT WILL CONTACT THE CUSTODIAL PARENT FOR THE NON CUSTODIAL PARENT AS LONG AS CHILD SUPPORT IS BEING PAID. BOTH PARENTS HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY ON MAKING SURE THE NON CUSTODIAL PARENT CAN CONTACT THE CHILDREN (I AM ASSUMING THERE IS NO "NO CONTACT" ORDER ON THE NON CUSTODIAL PARENT.

First, good for you for continuing to pay child support for children you have not seen in 12 years. Now either the custodial parent has hidden the children from you - for a good reason or a bad one - or you simply "lost touch" with your kids. If the other parent is hiding the kids from you - that is known as parental kidnapping and there are laws against it. If you have just lost touch - you need to hire someone to start doing a search for you. If you are not allowed to have contact - then you should just keep paying your support.

Good luck.

I doubt child support would want to get involved in forwarding personal letters but you should contact them directly to find out. And no, I don't think "I couldn't find your address" is a good defense. That's just an excuse.

No it's not a good defense. Sorry but you're gunna have to step up to the plate on this one. I know that mothers sometimes make it really hard for fathers to see their children. However 12 years is too long. You should of been in court 11 years ago asking for visitation. If you're still looking, good luck.

Child support angencies are not in the business of delivering mail. They won't do it.

You need a lawyer or private detective. 12 years with no contact is like, abandonment, isn't it? Not a good thing for the kids.

The agency probably will not forward your mail to your kids. They are not set up to do this. Your best bet is to get a private investigator.

If the mother intentionally hid their whereabouts, that is one thing. If you did not have the means to pay an investigator, that is pretty justifiable.

But if you didn't even try to find them, I would just tell the truth, and say you want to try to make up for it now.

They use a number of procedures to the contact the daddy. Letters, calls, in individual etc. If he doesn'tt take position your case will be spoke of court docket on account that once you visit an section baby help workplace its in reality on a voluntarily foundation yet when he would not take position he receives served to flow to court docket. If he dosen't take position to court docket they could reschedule to grant him yet another oportunity to take position and state his case and if he fails to seem they are going to rule adverse to him and order him to pay baby help.

If you honestly feel in your heart that it's a good defense, it probably is, but you really know it is NOT!
