1) Washington for leading our independence and setting up a free representative republic
2) Lincoln for leading this country through one of its worst times and abolishing slavery
3) Reagan for standing up to the Soviets and taking down their evil empire and establishing an economic condition that made us all comfortable in the 90's
4) Truman for fighting an unpopular war with a decisive must win strategy...his poll numbers at the end of his term were lower than the currents President.
5) George Bush.. for not waving the white flag like a democrat would have. Our policy is to not negotiate w/ terrorists. Bush's policy is to destroy them. Thank GOD for Bush.

In no order:
Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, Washington, Wilson
I guess you forgot when Reagan sold weapons to contras and helped supply the Taliban (You know- Osama Bin Ladin) with training and arms.
That's ok, Reagan didn't remember either.

only 3 worth mentioning are washington , linclon ,and fdr
washington for helping us start our country
linclon for ending our countries war with itself
and fdr for pulling us together and helping us get back on our finacial feet and back to work after the great depression
also anyone that says clinton is gravely mistaken
they only thing clinton did of note was NOT finish the war in iraq the first time , as well as NOt getting bin laden when he had the chance and then devistating our own military force by cutting funding , lowering military wages , closing many military bases , and taking away our ability to defend ourselves in armed conflict
just an aside the majority of florida is populated by retired military personel and most overseas military votes in elections are counted in florida do you REALY think that after all his administration did to the military that al gore would have EVER had a chance of winning an election in florida ? once again you are gravely mistaken

I like your choices as well although I have not thought long and hard about this. Clinton is definitely NOT in the top 5. Anyone who thinks so is misinformed. You could also consider Teddy Roosevelt. One of his great achievements was the establishment of the National Park System.......the first true environmentalist this country had.
