The traditional Chicken and Egg problem.

That was exactly what I felt when I graduated.

While quite a few jobs are willing to consider people without work experience, you can also try for jobs that require 1-2 years experience in your field. They are likely to be willing to consider someone like you too.

In general, it's not only academic/professional qualifications that matter, but also how you perform in the work place, under the pressures from work which are quite different from pressure from school. So if you have prior work experience, highlight that.

Experience is important because it will show how well you can implement what you learnt in the 'real world'. How you have translated the certification into results which is afterall what all companies are after.

If you have none, then be ready to start from the bottom and prove your mettle. If you are good, you have no need to worry, it is to the advantage of the employer to keep good staff.

Good luck!

Recruiters ask for experience because they want the best value for money they can get. If they have to spend some time training someone up for the job, they see this as a waste of resources. If they can get someone experienced, they think that they get a person who will hit the ground running. Having said that, they don't always get people with the right experience, so keep applying and emphasise all the life experience you have, plus stress all the experience you may have gained in part-time jobs, etc, which can transfer to other jobs. Good luck.

The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. If there's no past behavior in your CV, then there is not much that's predictable and I think recruiters won't feel comfortable recommending for a position. You'll get that over time... some time from now, prove in your CV that you've acquired experience, you've been a good manager and delivered results...
