okay i need to understand this word polemical i looked it up in dictionary.com and it still doesnt help please explain or give me an example or something!

It means that something is controversial. I could say," The war in Iraq is polemical." That would mean that there is a lot of debate surrounding it and many opinions that are of equal value on both sides of the arguement.

Polemical describes something (e.g. a book, speech, lecture, etc.) that takes a very one-sided and argumentative approach to a topic.
For instance:
The Republican senator's polemical speech attacked the Democrats' plans for new legislation.

Marjery B is right, but she hasn't put it into particularly understandable words.

The other answerers who say that it is "argumentative" or "hostile" are only half right.

A polemical argument is certainly hostile and one-sided, but the extra meaning is that it's being hostile against a particular person or group of people, instead of just being against whatever point of view they hold.
