Just cause I'm bored, a what-if...? Is there any reason for, and if so in what way, the Commonwealth Realms coming together? Doesn't have to be "ever closer Union" or a US style federal superstate, although can be if you like.

(At first, I thought, "Is this person asking 'Why is there a Commonwealth?' " ,but...)
Well, I don't see why not, though what exactly are you looking for?
Is it something similar to the European Union, where each nation is separate from each other, or what. If it is, it probably would be pretty much what their current status is, though amped up. Politically, I 'd think it's be best that it was separate, though there'd have to be sort of a unified governing body. Now, which nations should be in here? As you said, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Canada would be in there, but what about the other Commonwealth members? Anyhow, the idea of anything like a "US-style federal superstate" seems implausible. Something similar to a Commonwealth of Nations on steroids sounds plauble.

no, there would be no need for such an alliance. we are already linked together enough simply by being memebers of the Commonwealth.
