I lost my mucus plug over 2 wks ago. I have had some pains in my lower back but not for a long period of time. My right hand gets a little swollen off and on, but nothing really major. I am extremely frustrated, and weirded out about going anywhere important, but i have felt sort of how you feel when you are going to get your period

With both of my pregnancies I started nesting late in labor but about 24 hours before going into labor I had this HUGE burst of energy. The day I went into labor with my second son, I cleaned my house, mowed the lawn (push mower) and my husband and I were re-landscaping the front yard. Not everyone does this but I know a lot of women who have, so that might be a good thing to look for.

If you are experiencing swelling of the hands and/or feet, you should be drinking lots and tons of water. Water is very important for you while you're pregnant...and after you have the baby as well. You should be watching for those lower back pains to come frequently. Once they've reached about 10 minutes apart, then you know it's time to take a visit to either your doctor's office or the hospital. Make sure, if it's okay with your physician, that you are walking. Walking is a great way to naturally induce labor, and it's also a good way to stay in shape for the delivery. I know that a lot of women think that it's time to just sit and be served, but believe it or not...it's not! I learned that through having two children. I did things the lazy way with my first child, then realized that I was kinda out of shape to really handle the delivery! I stayed in shape with the second child, and the labor and delivery went very smoothly. I wish you all the luck in the world, and congratulations to you on your new little one to be!

oh-I went to my doc on thurs. Im 3-4 dialated, 60% thinned-my next appt is this coming thurs. and he said he is sure I wont make it to that appt. this baby is coming before then.
I lost the plug on friday & have just been having lower back ache and period like cramps.
nothing at all like the contractions we are supposed to be getting as signs of labor.
I've been told it starts with the period like pains--then the real contractions come- and you will be able to tell what they are definately.

I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow.

good luck--it wont be long now!!
