Disfunctional.

A three-legged dog; he can walk, but with difficulty.

A bizarre world in which, somehow, intelligence has come to mean something "un-American" for some.

People practically willing to sell their grandmother for a little more sense of (false) security.

That is a tough one...collective insanity, materialism, confusion and terror. All this swirling down a whirlpool of ignorance.

It is getting worse than a Hunter S Thompson book.....Fear and Loathing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

All this and people are jumping the borders to get in!

Great Question...lemme know when the movie comes out

We have a tendency to take a lot of things for granted. If you decided to come into our culture you would probably be taken aback by the things we have and the things we do that are considered common-place. We live in a society where most people have no reason to fear being outspoken, and they usually take advantage of this fact. Most of us are fully aware that our government has made some shady moves in it's time but most of us are fully aware that we would never compromise the comforts afforded to us as citizens of this country or simply residents in it. Some of us have serious issues with what our country has come to represent for us, but in general we are satisfied with our standard of living.

Since the income of the average world citizen is likely to be lower than the median income of the US, a person could say that US society is "wealthy." It would definitely appear to be if that person were to visit compared to his/her own country.

The simplest might be to say that a person can do/say whatever he/she wants so long as another person/group isn't harmed, robbed, libeled, slandered without significant fear of a governing body throwing one in jail.

Decadent. Materialism is important to the people. Americans are becoming a nation of consumers. Their dependence on foreign goods is escalating year to year.
