If a man is cool and carries himself with dignity and self-assurance, then women think he's boring and too nice. On the other hand, if a man is loud, rude, and bullies people, then women gush about how he's "confident", instead of seeing the reality that he is very insecure.

I think its young girls who get that mixed up. Women can usually tell the difference. If you're a guy, date older women...leave the cute, stupid ones alone.

Women can, girls can't. There is a big difference. Men do the same thing with respect to a female and her appearance. When males are young they want the perfect female that other men drool over. Its all about looks. But when he is really ready to settle down, his ideas change. He wants a woman who represents everything he believes a woman should (typically somewhat like his mother, lol) Females do the same thing. When they are young, they think they want the apparent "alpha" male. But once they grow up, they start to look for the good man, the provider and lover. The saying "its what's inside that counts", is true from females who are willing to grow up and fall into true love. They realize its not what is on TV that we want, its reality we crave.

Sometimes people see what they want to see...and you've put a very unfair and incorrect blanket statement out there so I'll correct it for you.
Some women find some guys boring (whether he's self assured or not)...some women go for loud, cocky types and some don't. Just like some guys like trashy women, some guys like insecure/needy women, and some guys like confident independent women.
Different strokes, for different folks...and sometimes we (humans) either don't see the obvious or gloss over it because we want to see something else.

Well to reassure you, I am not one of those females who can't tell the difference. In fact, that is the one reason why it's hard for me to go out with a guy because there's nt enough out there with confidence. Most females can't tell because of how they were brought up and how their mothers view men. To be honest, most females just want some1 that would protect them and that is why being a bully is considered being "confident" and being a true man is being a wuss.

I can tell the difference, It just comes with life experience. Loud rude men should be catapulted out to space into never ending orbit- IMHO ;-)

Idk but I'm not one of those women an @$$hole is an @$$hole to me...and I hate women that say nice guys are boring or corny because you know what? when you get treated like crap by that "confident" guy then you'll be PRAYING for that "boring" guy to come along...

well girls that believe that meat heads are confident are dumb and not worth it. a truely confident man is infact a gentleman and has dignity.
